   I’m so glad you found it - and enjoyed it so thoroughly.  You’re right, the crunchies ARE smaller - I knew something was different.
   Will you buy a backstock, or does this just prolong the tragedy of it’s impending extinctness?  Sometimes I think it’s best to just walk away and avoid the long goodbyes.  Two ships in the night…

   I JUST ATE THIS!  And by “just” I mean less than 5 minutes ago!

   ...I didn’t really like it.  I think I don’t like caramel that much.  Caramel kinda ruined the Crunch + caramel bar also…weird eh?  As I ate the second half of the 100 Grand, I thought, “WHY AM I EATING THIS?” 

   God, I’m weird.

   I remember when these came out, or when I discovered them. The regular ones, I mean. I thought they were pretty good, but not as good as your description.

   The 100 Grand has long been one of my go-to candy bars.  I’ll definitely look around for this one.

    Julilla, I don’t much like crunchies in candy bars, either (although the crunchiness of cocoa nibs I don’t mind as much as crisped rice). But maybe we’re the only two in the world! :^)

    Robyn - see, the fact that you continued eating it says something about the bar ... I’m not sure what, because I had the same feeling. I ate it and now I want another one.

    Joanna - I haven’t decided my strategy on these yet. I’m still lamenting the fact that I didn’t stockpile the Hershey’s Whoppers bars. But I’m not sure how well these will store in the wine fridge because of the caramel.

    g - they’re brand new, I think just released in April, so they should be around for a while.

    Nic - I’ll talk to Nestle at the candy expo about their plans for their Lt. Editions, but I haven’t seen them make one part of the line yet (but they did bring back the White Choc Crunch bar again).

    Julilla - I have that problem with sharp crunchies with Cap’n Crunch.

    Marvo - well, if they just made it to LA, Hawaii shouldn’t be far behind.

    Julilla - that’s what this bar needs! nibs! (of course then it’d be five times as expensive) ... it really does sound good though
    Russ - I really liked the originals, I recall eating them A LOT when I was in college.

    Sera - the only place I’ve seen them so far is 7-11 but I’m not sure what their release plans are for Lt. Editions and if they’re different from the way Hershey’s does it.

    The bar sounds great. But it is yet another confectionary I will never taste in the UK! Could I just say I love the reviews but I would also add the photos are excellent - I drool.

    This bar is good, but the Dark Nestle Crunch with Caramel is AMAZING.  I was surprised, because I didn’t love the milk Crunch with Caramel, perhaps I had a bad bar.

    When I was a kid “100 Grand” was my favorite candy bar, but that hasn’t been the case for 30 years, especially after I lost my taste for most milk chocolate.  But “100 Grand Dark” is incredible—it’s a totally different taste as far as I’m concerned, and it’s my new favorite.  I found this web page by doing a web search for the candy so I could order some (in fact, I just ordered two cases from theworldofcandy.com ) because I couldn’t find any at the candy stores.  I certainly hope this “limited edition” isn’t discontinued but becomes a regular.

    And yes, I did try Dark Nestle Crunch with Caramel as well, and it’s good, but 100 Grand Dark is superb.

    Today I received the following response from Nestl? consumer response representative Tara Williams:

    Thank you for contacting us regarding the availability of Nestl?? 100 Grand? Bar Dark Chocolate. This product is available for a limited time, 4/06-6/06, at most supermarkets as well as drug, discount and convenience stores nationwide. Only a limited quantity is produced. Once the supply is depleted, it is no longer available.

    I FINALLY got one of these today at a Dollar Tree.  I was on the prowl for Pink Grapefruit Mentos when I saw a lone bar sitting so temptingly in a promotional display.  I promptly snatched it up and proclaimed “I’ve been looking ALL OVER for one of these!”  Just now, I got home and quickly ate it.  It’s hard to describe my feelings about it.  The dark chocolate really had no flavor, but the milk chocolate on a regular 100 Grand doesn’t really have any flavor either.  However, I liked it.  A lot.  There’s only a small difference to me between the regular and the dark…but I’m definitely gonna miss the dark.  I might have to snatch a few up this weekend at my local Dollar Tree.
