  8. WOWOW!!

1 - FLORIDA’S NATURAL AU’SOME FRUIT JUICE NUGGETS - they have the best natural taste I’ve had in a very long time. You do not feel like you need to brush or drink something after eating them.

2 - M&M’S - They have done a remarkable job of marketing to a broad audience. I think they have impressed me most of all brands recently…did you see their store in Times Square? The Hershey Store has nothing on this place. (No offense to Hershey)

3 - TRIDENT SPLASH GUM - I particularly like the vanilla mint and lime strawberry. They recaptured my faith in strawberry flavored candy.

Kudos to the blog - keep it up!

i found this site while looking for the york limited edition chocolate truffles for my sis’ birthday october 6 (ou-texas weekend in case you follow college football.  boomer sooner!).  anyway, google led me to you where i read the posts and was sad to find no new leads.
then i saw your contest, so i thought i’d enter on her behalf…if i win, maybe i’ll have a brand new favorite for her to replace the yorks!
and as for the others—coconut longboys and bit o’honey, with mary janes coming in neck and neck.

  17. Hi Cybele,

I love this blog!  I’ve been reading since I discovered your website via NaNoWriMo several years ago.

I’m a chocolate hound, so I tend not to pay as much attention to the non-chocolate candy you cover, but I do go out of my way sometimes to hunt down things that you recommend (such as the Endangered Species Eco-Rounds and Trader Joe’s Espresso Chocolates).

Here are three candies I love:
    1) Reese’s peanut butter eggs!!!!!!
    2) Ritter Sport Marzipan and/or Dark Whole Hazelnut
    3) Godiva’s Extra Dark Chocolate Truffle

    Thanks much!

  18. Faves:

    1) Crispy Crunch
    2) Hot Tamales
    3) Jelly Belly (black licorice ones)

Wish there were more grape-flavored super sour candies out there!

Comment by yhasan on 9/27/07 at 4:52 am #
  19. I used to love a candy bar called the Milkshake Bar. Unfortunately it is no longer available, but it was so good. It had a nice chewy chocolatey malted-milk nougat center inside.

    Current US Faves:

    * Airheads
    * Sour Patch Kids
    * Swedish Fish

I definitely prefer European Chocolate over US chocolate so my fave chocolates are:

    * Cadbury Wispa (which I think has been renamed)
    * Flake
    * Double-decker
    * Coffee Crisp (used to import these, but they seem to be appearing locally now)
    * Guylian Belgian Chocolate Sea Shells (YUMMO)

Those chewy Ferrara Pan candies look good as well as the circus and chocolate skittles.

After reading Steve Almond’s book Candyfreak, I really want to try one of those Hazelnut Five Star Bars from Lake Champlain Chocolates.  They are just so expensive!  Next time I’m in VT, I’m gonna have to pick one up at the factory.

  20. 1. reeses peanut butter eggs-way better than   regular reeses cups
    2 take 5 - these are genius

  21. My three faves:

    1) Cadbury Mini Eggs
    2) Peanut M & Ms
    3) Tie: Green and Blacks’ 70% Dark Chocolate bar and Hammonds’s Mitchell Sweets

I’m a bit of a choco-holic, in case that wasn’t blindingly evident. grin

I had tried the Mitchell Sweets based on your review and LOVED them! It’s a little expensive to have them shipped to Canada, but now that the warm weather season is coming to an end, I’ll probably indulge again in the coming months.

I am most looking forward to the Reese’s Whipp and the dark chocolate Reese peanut butter cups.

    I love your blog!

  22. Take 5 - It’s the perfect balance of salty and sweet .  And they manage to pack every important candy bar ingredient in there without it being a cacophony.

Anything sour cherry.  I know it’s not for you, but I love them! Especially sour cherry bats around Halloween.

Scharffenberger 62% cocoa - Again, I know you are not the biggest fan of SB chocolates, but I love the subtle fruit notes and don’t find it at all bitter.

  23. Favs:

1)Ritter Sport Chocolates (particularly their Hazelnuts varieties)
    2)Kit Kats

  25. It was difficult to come up with only three, but…

    1. Movie Favorite (although i can’t find them at the theater anymore - grrr!): Hot Tamales.  I love to dump the entire box in my popcorn and let tem get all warm and greasy.  It has that whole sweet/hot/saltly/cruchy/chewy thing going on.  MMMMM!

    2. Childhood favorite - Mint Uno bars.  Where are they now?

    3. Upscale favorite - Moonstruck Chocolate’s nutmeg truffles.  I am actually salivating.

I am looking forward to the Chewy Lemmonheads.  I love the original.  I remember riding my bike to Bi-Mart so i could splurge on a 10 cent box.  Good times!

  26. 1.  Chewy spree.  I can eat this until I can’t no longer feel my tongue.

    2.  Milky Way Midnight.  The perfect candy bar.

    3.  Sherm Edwards chocolate.  A shout out to some yummy, made down the road, incredible chocolates.  The carmels are amazing.

I look forward to a day when yummy tasting chocolate from around the world takes its place next to all the ones we know and love in the check out counter of every grocery store!  Especially Turkish chocolate of any size, shape, or form.

    Comment by rks23 on 9/27/07 at 7:56 am #
  27. 1 - Le Roux’s Salted Butter Caramels (aka. ‘C.B.S’ for Caramel Beurre-Sal?). You have never had a real salted butter caramel - or indeed any caramel - until you have tasted this. Perfect texture, sweetness, and balance. They’re legendary, impossible to find, and I made sure to check that you haven’t yet tried them (or at least blogged about them). He also makes the most amazing salted butter caramel sauce that makes me make inappropriate noises at the table.

2 - Da Rosa’s Sauternes au Raisins: little, elegantly and barely sweet raisins covered with a sweeter coating of crumbly solidified Sauternes, covered with smooth, high-quality dark chocolate. Delicious, and stopping yourself from finishing the entire bag in one sitting (read: two minutes) is entirely unfeasible.

3 - Couldn’t decide, so I pick three for number three: Bernachon’s Kalouga bar (the most amazing, smooth dark chocolate in the world housing a real, super-rich burst (and hefty too) of just about liquid salted-butter caramel), Da Rosa’s Pimandes (chocolate covered almonds dusted with cocoa powder - it seems seemingly like nothing too original, until your palate discovers that underlying, perfectly balanced kick of piment d’espelette), and La Maison du Chocolat’s Rigletto bonbon (light caramel mousse encased in a thin shell of dark chocolate).

Oh, and a ‘fourth’, just to finally finish:

‘4’ - The original gummy bears. Red ones most preferred.

Let me know, again - I would really like for you to know what I’m talking about. Trust me: these go BEYOND ‘Superb’.

  36. I’m an Australian and feel I should be patriotic and describe only Australian candy, but I’ve been excitedly devouring American sweets since my arrival here a few months ago, and my preferences are accordingly affected!

    1. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, because nothing is better than the peanut butter/chocolate mix you Americans do so well.

    2. Dagoba Xocolatl Bar, because the chilli/chocolate idea is a new and mind-boggling one to me.

    3. Warheads Sours, because getting past the outer layer is such a satisfying relief.

I’m most looking forward to the dark chocolate Reese’s peanut butter cup, but I’m on the verge of tears because I think I’ll be back in Australia by the time it comes out. I need a hug!

  39. Oh, wow, just three?  I guess I can rule out the stuff that only tastes good from London, and Junior Mints and FastBreaks, which I can get any day…

    1) Lindt milk chocolate (“Lindors”)
    2) Pomegranate and/or mango high chew (because the pomegranate tends to be hard to find)
    3) ShockTarts (I LOVE THESE SO MUCH AND THEY’VE STOPPED SELLING THEM ANYWHERE NEAR ME!!)

I’m also nuts about honey-flavored noughat, but I’m not hugely fond of stuff heavy on almond and/or walnuts (no allergies, though.)

  44. Top 3 All Time Candy?! That’s one of those impossible questions to answer for me, but I’ll give my top 3 I remember from growing up.

    1) Razzles - Candy that turns into gum? In the heyday of Transformers in the 80’s, this was a no-brainer. Although it took me a bag or two of swallowing it all before I realized it turned into gum. Oops.

    2) Nerds - At the time it was completely revolutionary for us young boys. Crazy cool box, 2 flavors for the price of one, and better yet? NERD FIGHTS! If you don’t know, that’s when you use Nerds as spitball ammo. Nothing like a couple of hours of Nerd fights in the summer with multi-colored welts. To this day, blind luck is all that I have to thank for not losing an eye.

    3) Red Hots - I looooved me some Red Hots. A fiery awesome cinnamon taste I have not had in any other food product since, plus the old “box as a whistle”. Then there were the painfully fun contest of how long you can withstand chewing an entire box at once.

I don’t know the majority of what’s coming out, but so far I’m really really looking forward to Chewy Lemonheads and Atomic Fireballs. I love both of their flavors, but I’m not a huge fan of hard candy. It’s like they reached into my childhood dreams and made a small one come true!

Comment by John Foldi on 9/27/07 at 3:38 pm #
  45. This is rough but I’d have to say:

    1. Twix- there is nothing quite as delicious as a simple caramel twix.

    2. Reeses Peanut Butter Cups

    3. Milky Way

I was looking forward to the candy corn kisses and the reeses whipps but I’ve already tried the kisses ( love them) and purchased the whipps ( haven’t opened it yet). After reading your blog I’d have to say the Andes candies in key lime since I LOVE key lime flavored products, the coffee twix, and the double chocolate reeses all sound delicious. You are so lucky that you got to attend the All Candy Expo! I saw it once on the Food Network and it looked amazing!

By the way, because of you I can’t stop looking for limited edition candy items now whenever I walk into drug stores, grocery stores, Target, etc. Thank you for turning me into a candy junkie! grin

  46. I love Twix candy bars and Reese’s PB cups. I really love all kinds, not picky at all.

I also love Necco wafers, reminds me of when I was a kid.

  47. Take two - browser crashed first time.

    From when I was a kid -

    1) Marathon bars
    2) Red Vines
    3) Frozen bite-size Milky Way bars
    4) Hot Tamales

    Now:

    1) Any kind of good dark chocolate - too many to rank!

    2) Altoids (peppermint, spearmint, licorice . . .)

    3) Hot Tomales/Atomic Fireballs/other hot cinnamon candies

    4) Asian sour candies, especially “Super Lemon” from Japan.

Comment by Dana on 9/27/07 at 7:01 pm #
  48. I’d have to say my favorite candy of all time is plain old cola bottles!  I shared them with a friend at school, and we’ve been friends now for thirty years, so they hold a special place in my heart.

Second, I’d pick Thornton’s Eden chocolates from England.  They’re just soooo yummy and decadent!  After trying these, I just can’t go back to Godiva anymore.  The English may not know how to cook, but they sure know how to make some great chocolate!

Third…probably Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.  Candy tastes come and go, but after a while I always find myself coming back to these.  There’s just something great about them… grin

What am I looking forward to?  Lots, but I think the Twix Java bar is the one - I just hope they capture the coffee flavor well!

Comment by Tracey on 9/27/07 at 10:17 pm #
  49. 1. Coconut Toasties
    2. Skor
    3. Reeses Peanut Butter Cups

Looking forward to EVERYTHING, but especially the chewy lemonheads! I’ve loved lemonheads since I can remember!

  50. Top Three:

    Lindt intense dark cherry/chili bar
    Dark chocolate covered marzipan
Something brought back from CA(unnamed, in red foil)which was a spicy marshmallow with nuts in dark chocolate

    Looking forward to:
Seeking new Kit-Kats, Reeses’ & other special edition candies(thrill of the chase!)-particularly the famed mocha Crunch which I never found!

  51. First, let me say how much I love this website—for many years I’ve been a closet candy freak—I love the food part, but the marketing, packaging, everything that goes into making candy is so fascinating, but I always felt like a “grown up” shouldn’t be that into the candy aisle at Walgreens, you know?  This site has freed me!  Now all my friends come to me to find out what’s new that I’ve tried lately.  Now, all time favorites:
#1 with a bullet, a frozen Snickers bar—pure, simple, and joyous, a frozen snickers will take me out of any bad mood!
#2 Ghiradelli Squares—all of them are pure, elegant love, but the dark chocolate and Caramel are my favorite. I’m mostly a Dark chocolate lover, usually the darker the better, and I love when they infuse it with orange or chili notes.  But I’ve had some amazing milk chocolate that made me rethink that position!
#3 Symphony with Toffee and Almonds, the BIG bars, usually frozen as well—anoter mostly senitmental favorite, and an unusual Milk choice for me.  My dad kept giant Hershey’s with Almonds bars in our freezer most of my life, and I guess I kept the tradition alive, but with my own personal spin.

As for what I’m looking forward to?  Well, I guess the truth is that I trust you, so I’m looking forward to ANYthing!  What I love about your site is that I can find both high end treats (Das caramels, OH MY, do I owe you one for introducing me to these!) and all the new twists on old favorites (I cried when there were no more Milkshake Kit Kats, and yes, sorry, I loved the Razzberry M&Ms;).  I’m just so please to see such a boom in creativity in the industry, and I can’t wait to see what’s next!

  52. I’ve been thinking about what I’d choose for my top three candies over the past two days.  This is a hard decision for me because my loves change based on season and mood, but here goes:

    1. Tangy Taffy (grape and strawberry)
    2. Take 5
    3. Skittles gum (original flavor and carnival)

Candy I’m looking forward to trying, Junior Mints Deluxe and Chewy Lemonheads.

  53. A tough question, but I would have to say:
    1- Dots
    2- Starbursts
    3- Leonidas chocolates

I’m really looking forward to the Chocolate Skittles.  I’m a huge Skittles fan.  I was at the deli last night, and I spotted “Xtreme Fruit Skittles Bubble Gum” - not quite what I expected…

  54. Favorite candies:

    1. Ring Pops:  Makes me feel like a kid again…especially cherry

    2. Chocolate & Citrus anything:  I’m an addict
    & I love Frey’s Chocolate & Blood Orange Bar

    3. Gums:  any with coconut or citrus flavors
My fave right now is Mint Mojito from Orbitz

I have heard that Trident has a new flavor out—I think it is Wild Blueberry Twist which sounds intriguing…..Also I look forward to pretty much anything chocolate, I’ll try anything once. smile

  55. Favorite candies:
    1. Sour Patch Kids: I love that sour tangy flavor, and the sugar crystals…..even what’s left in the bottom of the bag is good!

    2. Chocolate/mint combination: Junior Mints, Andes, Baskin Robins hard candies, whatever the style, the flavor combination is GOOD!

    3. Skittles: just a good standby; fruity and chewy, can’t go wrong.

I’m looking forward to seeing more of the high-end chocolate.  I am a newcomer to the world of chocoslate, as I’ve always been more of a fruity candy type.  But it seems like there’s a growing trend toward “posh” chocolate….and I like it!

  56. I’ve been living in the UK for the past eight years, and miss United Statian candy sooooo much! If I’m lucky enough to be picked, I would be willing to pay for shipping. Because I’m desperate like that.

    Favs:
    1. York Peppermint Patties. Minis, preferably, to be eaten slowly and savored over time.
    2. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I was at the US Embassy in London a few weeks ago, and they had these in the vending machines. I was forced to share with my children, but I don’t see it as a hardship—they are woefully lacking in American Candy Experiences.
    3. Jolly Ranchers. The candy of my childhood, preferably sour watermelon. Are they even around anymore?

Looking forward to: Apple Sour, Junior Mints Deluxe, and Chewy Lemonheads. They sound fabulous!

    :fingerscrossed:

  57. My favorites candies are

    1. Sixlet - All time favorite.  It’s so rare for me to find these and when I do, I buy in bulk because they won’t sell it for long.  This year I’m excited they have it at Wal-mart.  These are not your ordinary chocolate…. It’s indescribable.

    2. Hershey’s white chocolate kisses with pepermint sprinkles - the first time and only time I had these was during last Christmas when I bought 2 bags of them.  I regret it because I wish I bought MORE of them.  I ran out in a matter of weeks and now I crave them.  I hope they will sell them again this upcoming Chrismas.

    3. Twix - You can’t go wrong with chocolate and caramel…. It’s even better as ice cream.

What I look forward to??  I’m not updated with the latest new candies but according to your site, I’m really interested in the new Twix Limited Edition Java Bar.  The other candy I love and excited to try is the new flavors of mentos candies.

  58. Thank you for this exciting chance!

    Favorites:

    Swedish Fish.  All Flavors.
Haribo Raspberries.  I love the texture.
    Peanut M&Ms;.  A perfect balance.

I am looking forward to the Chewy Lemonheads- I already like their slightly chewy quality.  And the Junior Mints Deluxe, although it may be too much mint for me.

    Thanks!

  59. 1) Sky Bars
    2) Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
    3) Endangered Species Cocoa Nubs Dark Chocolate (with the “cute” bat on the wrapper)

as you can imagine, i look forward to any new chocolate thingies that come up. i loathe the sour anything that my kids seem to love. ewww. of course, i’ve watched willy wonka one too many times, and so i am still waiting for that whole meal in one candyball thingy, the one that made violet turn violet… wink

  60. 1) Good and Fruities, the classic type before they changed the flavors in the early 90s
    2) Sanders’ jelly beans, terrific finger-tip sized pectin ones with great translucent shells and a great soft gel inside.  My grandma had them every year at Easter when I was a kid.
    3) Rainforest Crunch, that terrific nut crunch that was available in the late 80s and early 90s.

So, I’m only 35, and my three favorite candies of all time are no longer available.  Bleah.  Hopefully I can find a new favorite if I win the gift box smile

  61. My favorite candy of all time has to be RedVines (you know, those olde-time licorice stick imitations?)
ooh! and Jelly Belly Jellybeans (they’re just plain fun)
Though I’m not sure if those made it to the expo ^^
    The chocolate skittles sound interesting,
I had no idea there was a whole convention devoted to candy though!
Sounds like my kind of place

  62. Hi Cybele.  Three all-time favorites, eh?
    1) Red Shoelaces [I could eat these faux-licorice babies forever.  Best penny candy ever]
    2) Mambas [I like to eat two at a time, mixing the flavors. Lemon and Raspberry are the best combo.]
    3) Haribo Grapefruit Slices [I know you feel the same way I do about these.  Heavenly.]

I’m certainly looking forward to those chewy lemonheads and the Mike and Ike lemonade mix you speak of along with everything else.  In general, though, I’m most looking forward to Good & Plenty bringing back their awesome fruity chews (were they called Fruit & Plenty?).  A boy can dream.

Comment by Jesse on 9/28/07 at 10:57 am #
  63. 1. Mellowcreme Pumpkins!!! Right now is my favorite time of the year! Nothing beats pure, unadulterated, pumpkin-shaped sugar.

    2. Dots! I love gummies in general, but Dots have a great texture and flavor.

    3. Starburst!! The only thing that keeps me going through final exams, year after year without fail.

I am intrigued by these chocolate Skittles you mention! I loved the various mint mixes.

Comment by Laurel on 9/28/07 at 11:00 am #
  64. Favorites HAVE to include;

    1. the original tart n tinies. The were so good and sugary. Nothing compares
    2. conversation hearts. again with the sugary goodness and a plus because they talk to you
    3. chewy sweet tarts

Obviously not as much into chocolate as sugar, but I am looking forward to the delux junior mints and also the chewy lemonheads!

Comment by Jaime on 9/28/07 at 11:55 am #
  65. 1) 70%< cacao chocolate.  I know dark chocolate is the “in” thing now, but I just like it better.

    2) Sour gummi worms, especially the Walmart brand ones (which is strange, because Walmart ain’t my favorite.)  Sour gummis in general are really good too.

    3) Licorice!  I don’t eat enough of it.

Looking forward to: random things that look neat (note: not necessarily pretty) and taste yummy.

  68. It is so hard to pick just 3 when you start thinking about it, but I have to go with

              1. Big Hunk

              2. Flicks

              3. Hot tamales

and now I’m off to my kitchen to have one of the above.

Comment by Pamela Hicks on 9/28/07 at 1:31 pm #
  69. 1- Now & laters; hard & fruity, soft & chewy! They’re the best for when I want that tangy candy taste that isn’t too overpowering for my tastebuds. Then again, I like eating wasabi by itself so I’m not too sure how that stands.

2- Vanilla tootsie rolls; I love the vanilla tootsie rolls. Maybe it’s because I’m an avid vanilla fan, but I’ll always go for the vanilla ones.

3- Junior Mints; how can I say no to junior mints? I could eat a box everyday & never get tired of them. & that’s pretty hard considering I usually get tired of minty candies really easily.

  70. My three favorite candies of all time have to be:
    Reese’s peanut butter cups
Ritter Sport Rum Raisin Nut (I always stock up when I’m in Germany!)
    Starburst original flavors

    Here’s hopin’!

  71. Favorite candies:
    1. Licorice allsorts.  Sooo… tasty.  These are followed in the licorice category by Panda’s black licorice.
    2. Peanut Butter Twix.  I loved these as a kid, then they disappeared.  Then they had the nerve to change to chocolate cookies, though I tried it the other day and I actually really liked it.
    3. Jelly beans.  Preferably black, of course, but almost any flavor (except buttered popcorn) will do.

I’m looking forward to trying more of the exotic/gourmet chocolates that contain things like curry powder or olives.

  74. Some of my favorite candies:

    1. Necco wafers. All the flavors and colors. And you can draw on them.

    2. Dagoba chocolate bars. Roseberry and Lime, especially.

    3. Licorice. Really strong black licorice, mostly. Red Vines too.

I mostly excited by fruit flavored Kit-Kats. My brother went to Japan this summer and returned with kiwi and orange melon flavors. They were lovely. Also, the licorice caramel sounds very interesting.

  84. For favs(because I have so many..) I’ll put categories more than anything

    1) Black licorice. - Specifically real Dutch licorice(sucks I can’t get licorice of the month!!), gotta have mild/medium sweet stuff, so like the licorice cats or the slightly salty coins mmmm, the licorice mentos are awesome too!
    2) Milk Chocolate(even better with a little PB) - Max5’s(Take5 in the States), Reese’s Crunchy Bar, Crunch Bars, BigTurk, Lion, ect ect ect… goes on! I love the Ritter products though.. esp the yougurt one smile
    3) Toffee/Chewy products(FIRM toffee.. none of the soft melty goo) - Mack Toffee(not the caramels- too soft), Walkers Toffee.. you have to have a sore jaw from chewing!

runner up’s have to be the pink grapefruit, strawberry, fruit, sours, green apple, and grape mentos(yes there is a store here in town that sells them all, its amazing!!)

Basically looking forward to everything. I’m always looking for new stuff to try.. I love different textures mixed together(Max5 bars!) and am constantly trying new items!

And those licorice caramels… I found one here in town that is a firm chewy and lasts a long time. Can’t remember the brand for the life of me! eek.

    Necco Wafers
Refreshers (British - fizzy hard candies)
Lindt balls - Holiday spiced blend

Kinder Eggs would have made the list - but the chocolate is kind of sub-par - it’s the lego-style engineering I love.

  87. Fav candies:

    1. Ferrero Rocher chocolate so smooth and light and crunchy, yummy!

    2. Take5 awesome combo of sweety and salty.

    3. plain old M&Ms; reminds me of childhood when grandma always had a stash hidden for us grandkids…for some reason the tan ones were my favs but they got rid of em :(

Candy I look forward to is 3 Muskateers Mint Dark Chocolate that an online friend told me about, sounds so yummy!

  88. All time faves (so hard to limit it to just 3!):
    - Zotz (grape and cherry in flavour please- unfortunately they don’t make grape anymore)

    - Cherry Airheads by Perfetti Van Melle (best artificial cherry on the market, in my opinion)

    - Cornflake Corn Crisp Ritter Sport Chocolate bars

Looking forward to someday devouring a grapefruit mento again- that was the best candy I ever stumbled upon randomly at a gas station in the middle of nowhere…

    2.  Kraft Caramels

  90. 1. Sour Patch Kids - tasty, a good sour kick, and bite sized!
    2. Bonkers - ate these all the time growing up and miss them dearly.
    3. Sour Soothers - another classic from my childhood that I still buy in big 2.75lb tubs at Costco.

The biggest one I’m looking forward to are probably the Chewy Atomic Fireballs. On top of super sour, I like really hot cinnamon (Hot Tamales Fire are great) and the chewy aspect makes them all the more tempting.

  91. 1) Anything from Green & Black. Delicious dark chocolate, the crunch of coffee beans or smooth mint filling…delicious.

2)Lifesavers mints. Wonderful little hard candies that sometimes melt in your mouth

    3) (Canadian) Rockets. Loved these since I was a kid. Not too strongly flavoured, but perfect for absently munching.

I’m probably most interested by the deluxe Junior Mints you just reviewed…I’m really fond of mint and chocolate, especially mint filling.

  103. Hmm hard decisions. Just to be silly i’m giving my three favourites from when I was 12. Hoping it still counts even though I’m almost twice that age now.

    1. Skor bars. The chocolate and that hard inside made my insides melt in bliss.

    2. Tootsie rolls. Just the small two inch long ones. My older cousin used to buy them and I’d beg him to share.

    3. Bubblegum balls. To me it didn’t matter what flavour or brand jsut that i coyld chew them up and blow bigger bubbles than anyone I knew.

Good luck to me and congrats to whomever the winner is.

    1.  Take 5 Bar…perfect mixture of ingradients, awesome crunch, sweet, salty…ideal…

    2.  Gobstoppers…the absolute antithesis of the Take 5…sickly sweet, fakely fruity…still a favorite…better before they eliminated a layer a few years back…

    3.  White chocolate peppermint bark…non-commercial, homemade and given as gifts ‘round Christmas time each year…

Things I’m looking froward to - winning a whole big box of candy…

  114. It is hard to think of just 3 favorites (I have chocolate hidden in whatever nook and cranny I can find at home and work!) but here goes!
1.)  Bar None - I couldn’t believe when Hershey stopped making it.  I keep hoping they will come back, in their original form.
2.)  Cadbury Fruit and Nut Bar - I love the chocolate in the Cadbury Bars and the fruit and nuts don’t tease but are substantial in size.
3.)  Charles Bittersweet Carmelized Rice Krispie Bar - this has only been on the market for a few years and might be hard to find but it is absolutely worth the search.  The chocolate is so pure and the combination is incredible!

    3.  dark chocolate almond joy

    5.  independent chocolate and candy shop products
I am looking forward to trying the chocolate Skittles because I am not a big fan of fruity skittles; I think the chocolate is a great idea.  I also wish I could buy individual fondues at my grocery store!  Razzberry M&Ms; sound really good; Cinnabon Carmel Pecan Cluster sounds DELICIOUS; Pomengranate Jelly Belly Jellybean is enticing, and I just LOVE the fruity Jelly Bellies so that will be great.

  119. My fav candies of all time are Big Cherry and Chunky, neither of which I can find anymore.  I think they don’t make them ? :(

I’m not really looking forward to anything in particular.  I tend to get excited about a candy, then I try it and it’s not that good.  Save for the chcoolate stuff.  Chocolate is usually good :D

  130. 1. Reese’s Big Cups - the greatest invention of all time in my humble opinion.  I love pretty much everything reese’s, but the big cups are the best.

    2. Jelly Belly’s Bertie Bot’s Every Flavor Beans - I love jelly belly’s, and mixing in the joke flavors is awesome.  Some of the most amazing flavors in there, and it is always hilarious to give one to an unsuspecting friend.

    3. Cadbury Creme Eggs - I have such fond memories of these growing up.  Every year when I see them in the store the first time it takes me back to my childhood.  And they are just delicious too.

As for what new stuff I am looking forward to, those Soda Shop Jelly Belly’s sound awesome, and the chewy Fireballs sound like they could be the best thing ever, or maybe not.  I love new candy, I always look at the gas station (the only place around here that has a decent candy section) for new stuff.

  131. Very hard to pick only three, but here goes!

1.) Carnival Skittles - These were the perfect mix of flavors for me.  Especially with the cotton candy flavor!  I’m so sad that they were only a LE and now I officially can’t find them anywhere.  I would also love to get my hands on a bag of Showtime Skittles from Australia!

2.) Tootsie Fruit Rolls - I MUST have a big bag of these on every trip that I go on!  (Okay, okay…  I eat them all the time anyway!)

3.) Mentos - My favorite is the cinnamon and strawberry flavored.  I’m SOOO glad they have both flavors in those boxes now!!

I’m really looking forward to trying the chocolate Skittles mix.  I’m hoping they will be as good a mix as the Carnival ones.  I’m glad to see so many different candy mixes lately.  I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

Always hunted them out of my Christmas stocking first.

I’m really looking forward to the chewy fireballs!

  134. 1. Chocolate with candied ginger. I don’t care what brand, it’s just so tasty…
    2. Lindt truffles, except not so much right now because the insides of them are liquid by the time I get them home.
    3. Cella’s chocolate covered cherries, in dark chocolate. I wish they were available all year round, but no luck. I tried a recipie once for chocolate covered cherries but they ended up being the kind with the white stuff instead of the clear liquid. And I’m sure they were very good except I wanted them to be like the Cella’s ones and they weren’t. *Sad*
And I’m most looking forward to anything chocolate. As you may see, I like chocolate. Just not the original Hershey bar, because it gives me heartburn. *shrug*
