You can download the file directly, subscribe in iTunes or Stitcher.

We also have some great show notes up on the Candyology 101 website, if you want to track down anything we were talking about.  Enjoy!

  1. Modjeskas reference! I love them - I’m guessing Maria or Lauren’s little candy shop is making something similar to them, but Modjeskas are a Louisville tradition (Muth’s Candy in Louisville make great ones that you can order online).

  2. I just subscribed to your podcast and listened to this one first. Very enjoyable! I heard about you from Slate’s The Gist with Mike Pesca.

Regarding peanut butter cups, I was all about the Reese’s until See’s developed their own. Once I ate a See’s p.b. cup, I never looked back: the peanut filling is grainy and sweet and salty and the chocolate, of course, is so much better. Also, I feel they got the ratio of chocolate to peanut butter just right.

One other peanut topic you didn’t mention was Reese’s Pieces v. Peanut Butter M&Ms;: sorry ET, Peanut Butter M&M’s are vastly superior, with a more powerful peanut butter flavor, a larger morsel, and a crisper candy coating.
