Simplicity is a beautiful thing.
Peanuts and chocolate, chocolate and peanuts.
I picked these up at the All Candy Expo. They weren’t sexy, they’re not new ... they’re just milk chocolate peanuts.
The peanuts were fresh and good quality. Not the super huge ones that are all standardized sizes, but I didn’t have a bad peanut in the bag, so I appreciate their ability to screen out the yucky ones. They have a nice, thin coat of milk chocolate, so it’s more peanut flavor than chocolate. They have a glossy sheen, which means that they don’t melt together so easily even on blisteringly hot days like today.
Honestly, I think these are much better than Goobers, they’re not quite as sweet and the peanuttiness shines through. I’ve seen these before in the concession sized boxes at movie theaters and I always passed them by because I thought they were a cheaper version of Goobers (or Peanut M&Ms). But they’re actually really good and fresh tasting.
Because there’s more peanut than chocolate in there, there’s not as much sugar either. So if you’re into a sweet little snack and can handle the fat content of the peanuts this is a good snack with lasting energy because of the protein hit.

Commenting is not available in this channel entry.Chocolate peanuts are rife all over the world and finding a decent one is hard. Don’t Fisher make Pretzels and wotnot, often served during flights in snack packs?
I was recently given a pack of “Clickos” from Germany. They’re basically a German equivilent of Peanut M&M’s. They looked at smelled EXACTLY like M&M’s, which was strange as the taste was, not unpleasant, but not at all like M&M’s. The chocolate shell was extremely thick, very light in colour for a milk chocolate and tasted kind of…overly milky.
Very wierd.
Goobers are awful. It’s not the idea, it’s the execution. I’m sure these are better. I’m glad someone else noticed that chocolate peanuts do sometimes have an incredibly bad one in the bag. M&Ms; do, too.
Have you ever had a hollow M&M? ie. Just the shell, but still with the gap in the middle where the peanut should be, almost as if it slipped out un-noticed, a Houdini of sorts.
No, but I have had a very small, spherical plain M&M in a bag of peanut ones. I don’t often eat the peanut ones as they are only my 3rd favorite (almond and peanut butter beat peanut).
I got a box of Goobers on my desk, but I’m afraid to eat it for fear of being what I eat.
GTO - I’m not sure who makes my airlines snacks, but I’m pretty sure Fisher is known for their nuts (like a poor cousin to Planters).
I’ve had Peanut M&Ms; that are missing the peanut, but never one with a void there. Sounds like someone’s been using some sort of matter transfer (beaming) technology to get just the nuts.
Dave - I’ve never tried Peanut Butter M&Ms; ... maybe I’m due.
Marvo - I would be very scared. What possessed you to buy them in the first place?
