Actually, don’t eat these. They’re probably thirty years old. I really miss Pine Bros Throat Drops. They were glycerin cough drops, soothing and firm and slightly gummy after they softened up. They came in licorice and honey lemon.

UPDATE: Pine Bros did come back. You can find them in drug stores in two flavors.

Commenting is not available in this channel entry.I miss Pine Bros. too! They were the best part of having a sore throat!! I still think they’d be useful today for a dry throat or a day when allergies are acting up.
I miss them too! I sure wish someone would bring them back. Loved the Honey-lemon.
These were probably the genesis of my extreme fondness for all things gummy! I remember them as being VERY soothing.
Anne - I used to buy mine at Daniel’s Pharmacy on Main Street in Mechanicsburg.
I’m pretty sure they came in black cherry too. Loved them, even when I wasn’t sick.
They DID come in cherry, my only cough drop I’d buy until they vanished. Sure could use them now with my job(always talking).
in the 50s i would buy pine brothers cough drops..they also came in lemon..black licorice and mixed flavors
My current collection of Pine Bros Honey, purchased in the 90’s.
Oops! my collection can be seen here!

This has made my day! I’ll keep my fingers crossed that this isn’t like “new” Good ‘n’ Fruity…
@ Don and Adam:
The bad news is, IVC, the vitamin and supplement company that supposedly owns Pine Brothers trademarks/copyrights/patents
DENIES ALL KNOWLEDGE about this-I sent an email yesterday, reply c&p’d below: SO WHO HAS THEM?
Thank you for contacting International Vitamin Corporation. We appreciate your business and value your feedback. I am sorry to inform you that International Vitamin Corporation has not distributed the Pine Bros. line in over 5 years. I did hear through other consumers that it is now being offered again, however, I am unable to confirm this for you at this time. If there is anything else we can do please feel free to call us at 800-666-8482 ext. 7183 Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 P.M, Eastern Time
Thanks
Gina

I LOVED these cough drops, great laxative too.
STOP IT. My life has just been made. I was thisclose to buying thousand year old cough drops on ebay. So creepy.
Still nothing, eh?
Good news, fellow Pine Bros cough drop lovers! They are back!!! pinebros.com has all the info about their recent reappearance. Available in cherry and honey, but licorice and lemon are about to be launched. I just bought a bunch at my local CVS drugstore, but they are available right from the manufacturer. They even have a facebook page. I called them and they said they are working on getting them into Walmart, too! I’m so happy! They taste just as I remember! Yaaaaaaaay!!!
I have seen the ad’s on TV but cannot find them, loved them. are they in CVS’s yet? or any other drugs/ walgreen’s or Rite Aid’s really miss them and glad they are back !! hope I do not have to order on line for them???
hi, cvs carries them now. $3.49 for the packaged one. (they are in a bag)
as a kid, i would buy boxes and boxes of them and eat them as candy.
i will tell you this, they don’t taste the same.
the original ones, had a true cherry taste as with the honey ones.
these new ones have no flavor. they sure look the same, but the taste isn’t there. the original cherry ones would make your mouth pucker, with a very cherry flavor.
i bough all 3 flavors. the honey ones, don’t have that distinct honey flavor either.
the new one’s all have a mild taste to them. their ok, but nowhere taste as the original ones… :(
I loved the cherry and also the honey ones as a kid and was delighted to learn that CVS sells them. Until I bought a bag and discovered they are not quite the same. The old ones had a silky, soft way of melting in your mouth, with that great cherry taste that another poster described. They are a bit firmer and rougher than the original formula, too.
Hi All, CVS definitely does sell these and they are fabulous. I buy the honey-flavored only because most fruits aggravate my acid reflux issues. After 4 vocal cord surgeries, my speech pathologist insisted I try these. They really do help me. I am a psychotherapist, so I am paid to talk, or not paid at all.
