Trolli Sour Brite Eggs
While I knew what gummi worms were, I never had these before and wasn’t quite sure what they were. They certainly look like jelly beans but the ingredients, with gelatin as a key component, read like gummis. It turns out, after just opening the package and squishing one between my fingers that they’re jelly beans with gummi centers. (I appreciated that the package on this one had a clear best by date - which the Brite Crawlers did not have.)
Like the Crawler worms, there are three color varieties here:
Blue & Pink = Raspberry & Strawberry - for some reason my blue & pink ones were remarkably larger than the two other varieties. Like the worms, I liked this variation best. The woodsy berry & cotton candy with a little tangy pop goes well with the grainy jelly bean coating. Green & Orange = Lime & Orange - because I was eating these whole instead of biting one end or the other, the combination of flavors was much more important. Lime and orange make a great citrus combo, so I’d say this one works better than the worm version. The attention to detail and the readily identifiable flavor combos made this a really distinctive candy. As far as jelly bean shaped gummis, I’m not sure anything could supplant the Meiji Gummy Chocos. They come in a close second though. They’re not really sour as advertised, but that aside, it’s a fun, easy to share candy ... perfect movie food. Related Candies

Commenting is not available in this channel entry.Aside from the obvious vicarious pleasures your blog affords, I love your descriptive powers, of which the following is typical: “. . . texture of the sandy candy shell.”
I wonder if they recycle leftover bits from the worm making process into these guys. Or they could just split the batch, I guess.
These are by FAR my favorite gummy candy. I sometimes have a hard time finding them so at Easter I usually by a few bags when they seem to put them out with the jelly beans. YUM!
gummy candy is my favorite kind of candy, and these are my topppppppp favorite candy in the world.
the only thing is, i can’t find them anywhere.
nobody sells them around here, the only place i’ve found that sells them (when i finally found a place at all that sells them) is this gas station about an hour away from me. so sometimes i make a special trip over there just to buy a couple bags of these.
i love them.
as for leftovers from the worms, i don’t think they do leftovers with these. it would lack quality control that way, and i don’t think this is just a second hand project ot trolli. this is a big item. :O they probably have these separate.
i don’t know if you did a review on the pebble candy yet, but if not you should. that was my favorite as a kid but i don’t even know if they make it anymore?
not rock candy, it was these candys that looked like real stones. it was awesome.
This have become one of my favorite candies. Nice and compact with a lot of flavor and chew. The only large chain that seems to sell them consistently is Rite-aid
I have never really liked gunny all that much, it was just kind of nasty to me. But then i ate these. The sugar coating on the outside gives it the perfect touch, and i am now addicted. The only place i can find them is Rite Aid, so my sister and i (she loves them too) make special trips to get them, but even then there are only three or four bags in stock, so i end up buying them all. DELICIOUS! WELL DONE!
I ha da hard time finding them. I had to order from Amazon/candycrate.By the time I got them and ate them they were hard to chew. I had to hold it and bite in half and then swallow it. So the taste factor was blown already. Not worth the money at any cost. Look pretty only :(!
Of course the taste factor was gone. Food shipment is usually not handled very well. Just go to your nearest convenience store or grocery store.
